MacOS on x86 - already done!

I've been following the WWDC 2005 keynote speech "live" on macobserver and all the rumours are true. Apple has been "living a lie" and hidden away the fact that every internal project at Apple has been running on an Intel system. Of course to prove that Steve Jobs is performing all the keynote demos on an Intel system running MacOS X Tiger!

Amazing ... and developers have nothing to fear as porting applications over will be easy. We will again be having "fat" binaries so that applications will be able to run on both x86 and PPC.

But I'm wondering what this is going to do to the current Apple sales. Will people be holding off purchases of Apple hardware until x86 systems are out and about. I for one would rather hang in there as I don't want "outdated" technology.

Interesting times :)
