Skype Me!
Seeing as Bryn is in our London office we decided to give Skype a try and see what the quality would be like. Installed and registered (my username is alistairphillips) and we connected up.
The most amazing thing was that it worked first time - ignoring the fact that we had firewalls in place. Great!!! Damn I remember the days when you needed to open up ports on the firewall in order to let things through and then some applications would be tied to one PC. But no more it seems.
The call quality was not too bad but it was a little delayed. Is there anything that one can do on the firewall to perhaps open up ports to get a direct connection with the recipient?
All in all a good experience and nice to play with!
