Identity Fraud
Everyone is going on about Identity these days and I'm not sure why 2005 is the year for it as this is something that has been going on for ages. But here is an article on ZDNet about a guy from an Indian call centre that sold client details. Not nice...
What got me was that last night we phoned in to order pizza from a local pizza shop. Now I know they're got my address details on file as they bring that up from my phone number but this time they read back my credit card number, expiry date and CVC number. I was shocked ... I could have been anyone and here they were rattling this off. Is there stuff even encrypted????
Cardholder not present fraud must be huge.
