Wolfkop Chalet
Friday the 5th was my birthday and we had decided a while back to go off to stay at Wolfkop in the Citrusdal Valley. A two hour drive outside of Cape Town and you're in the most amazing place ever. Citrusdal is this cute small town with a main road littered with a few necessary shops and that's about it! Can't get much better than that. Wolfkop is 7 km's outside the centre of Citrusdal and in no time you're out in the country again with loads of orange tree's on either side of the road.
There are two chalet's available - "Tolbos" and "Boegoe" - with both having amazing views over the valley. The chalets are very well set up and you'll find everything that you need there. Two rooms each with 2 single beds, linen, crockery, hob and microwave. DSTV is available but only if you bring your own smartcard along. Otherwise the standard terrestrial channels are available. The only issue that we had was the volume on SABC3 was really low. One had to turn the TV's volume all the way to 100% to be able to hear.
But you'll not be watching much TV there as the views are so amazing and we spent most of the time outside in the sunshine reading our books. There's an indoor fireplace which makes every really cosy and an outdoor braai (barbecue) which we used every night!
Was an amazing weekend away and we will definitely be going back. If you're going for 2 nights or longer then it costs ZAR250 per night - amazingly cheap!
Shall try and get some pictures up here!
